As building codes and governments push for more and more efficient residential construction the air tightness of the building envelope has become a critical aspect. SB-12 currently has tradeoffs available for passing air tightness targets and proposed code changes will make air tightness testing mandatory and by 2020 there will be a pass/fail threshold. Regulators will need to know what a blower door test is and how to interpret the results.
