What Is an AGM?

• Now as a formal OBOA Chapter our Constitution calls for an Annual General Meeting which is a formal yearly meeting between our members and the Executive Team.

Purpose and Objectives

• Review Financial Performance


• Elect or Re-elect Executive Team members: members may be appointed or reappointed




• November 13th AGM we will vote for the secondary treasurer position to work alongside our current Treasurer before she transitions out of the role




• Appoint Auditors: Appointment of an auditor for this year’s AGM and reappointment of an auditors for the next fiscal year.


• Strategic Discussion: We will discuss the Chapters future plans, strategies, and goals, and would love to hear as much feedback and input from our members.


• Member Engagement: The AGM is a great platform for members to ask questions, raise concerns and vote on resolutions.  Brainstorm ideas for the future going forward. Ie. Teams Chat that seems to keep booting people out 😉.  Since we are a virtual Chapter maybe we need some technically savvy people 😊

Why It Matters

• Iron Sharpens Iron: The Building Administration Chapter is nothing without its members and the AGM is a yearly meeting where it would be great to have as many in attendance as possible to discuss plans going forward, adding value to its members and maintaining the Chapter’s viability.


• Transparency: AGMs promote openness


• Accountability: The Executive Team is held accountable for past performance and future.


• Democracy in Action: This is your Chapter as well and a great opportunity to influence its growth.
