Please join us for our monthly Building Administration Chapter meeting with guest speakers from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP).

We are pleased to welcome:

Peter Wideman, District Engineer
Jennifer L. Volpato, M.Eng., P.Geo., P.Eng., PMP, District Engineer

Peter and Jennifer will be leading an informative presentation on Records of Site Condition (RSCs) and Brownfield sites, with a focus on how this work intersects with municipal building departments.

This session is designed specifically for Building Administration staff, including those who receive or screen building permit applications, plans examiners, and staff supporting building officials. The presenters will address key topics that are most relevant to our roles, including:

• Understanding when an RSC is required under regulation and the applicable exemptions


• Overview of Certificates of Property Use (CPUs)




• What they are


• How to interpret key conditions


• What aspects are most relevant for building officials




• High-level overview of the RSC submission process




• What clients must complete before submitting


• What building departments should know before directing applicants to MECP




• Guidance on when and how to direct applicants to MECP, including updated contact information for District Engineers across the province
